Our opinion

The Helix DSP.2 sound processor is a necessary device for building high-quality sound in a car. It can take a signal from a standard head unit or a standard amplifier with channel-by-channel gain. It has a Toslink optical input with support for volume control. When installing the processor after an abnormal head unit, it is possible to use RCA inputs.

At the output of the processor Helix DSP.2, we have four pairs of RCA. For each of them, you can choose any cut-off frequencies above and below from 20 to 20,000 Hz in 1 Hz increments, filter quality (Butterworth, Linkwitz, Chebyshev, or Bessel) and the slope. A time correction is available for each of the 8 channels. All settings are made through user-friendly software, which is downloaded for free from the manufacturer’s website and installed on any computer running Windows.

Optionally for the Helix DSP.2 processor, you can purchase a Bluetooth module to connect a smartphone and listen to the sound from it, a USB module to listen to the sound from a smartphone via a cable. Both modules are integrated inside the processor and do not create any problems during installation. Two separate remote controls are available for external control of the processor - one is simpler and cheaper, the other is more expensive and more complicated.

In general, Helix DSP.2 is a very successful model in its price range, which has no analogues in the world. German assembly speaks of high quality and reliability of the product. Adjustment options allow you to customize any components in any audio system (in most analogs, 1-2 types of filtering are available, here there are 4 of them). Flexible system settings allow you to choose the priorities of the processor inputs, set the delay on and off to avoid claps in the system. With all this magnificence, there are practically no errors and flaws, and if they manifest themselves, they are very promptly eliminated by the manufacturer through a free update downloaded from the site.
